Garden Masterclass

Following another successful Workshop for Garden Masterclass at Chatsworth, Derbyshire last September (2021), I am thrilled to have been invited to lead another workshop day in 2022. This time it is at The Hepworth Art Gallery and gardens in Wakefield! : Art in the Garden: Expressive Drawing and Mixed media mark making is on 17th September 2022.

In the wonderful setting of The Hepworth art Gallery gardens we explore our impressions of the planting and place using a variety of dynamic mixed media drawing approaches, using black and white media including graphite, charcoal and ink, subsequently with pastel and other mixed media to capture colours and marks. Finally we will seek to produce exciting and abstracted compositions using collage approaches, including ‘taking scissors for a walk’ and reconfiguring. We will be joined by Cultural Gardener Katy Merrington who will talk about the garden. The day includes free entry to the gallery.
