(video) My new indigo landscapes series

During the spring and summer I have started to explore the landscapes around Saddleworth. These landscapes including moorland, woodland and the valleys in-between. I am developing a new body of artwork about these landscapes, using a variety of media and on different surfaces. Part of this work is in preparation for a joint exhibition at Gallery Oldham in 2022.

One approach I have been taking is to use indigo pastel, compressed charcoal and acrylic inks. I am exploring the shapes, lines and patterns in the landscapes using these media. By creating marks in variety, I aim to reflect these elements and my feelings towards these landscapes. I call this work my Indigo Landscapes Series.

In this video I share my approaches to using the Indigo, inks and charcoal to create my Indigo Landscapes Series :

I have just released a series of 12 of these indigo landscapes works for sale. (most of these are now sold). To be kept informed about my studio practice and be the first to see new works, please sign up to my newsletter.
